As the libidinous chick magnet
Shane McCutcheon on TV's The L Word, Moennig has attracted a legion of
admirers-including artist Richard Prince. A fan of the show and its
androgynously sexy star, Prince tapped the 28-year old actress to be part of
his W photo spread this month. The former model proved a natural in front of
Prince's camera, and the entire shoot, set near the artist's farmhouse in
Rensselaerville, NY, took less than 2 hours. The actress whose big screen
credits include Art School Confidential and The Shipping News is currently
in Vancouver shooting the fourth season on The L Word. The Philadelphia
native, Moennig has performing in her blood. Her mother is a former Broadway
dancer, and her first cousin in Gwenyth Paltrow. Prince riffed on Moennig's
tomboyish looks, outfitting her in a race-car driver's jumpsuit and shooting
her in an auto body shop. "I like watching her on the show," he says of the
actress. "She sort of looks like she could front a rock 'n' roll band and
ride a motorcycle."
