Leisha plays "Alice Pieszecki" a wise-cracking journalist who speaks her mind, and claims she is "looking for the same things in a man as [she is] in a woman." The character of Alice also leads The L Word Spin-off.

Hailey - born July 11, 1971 in Okinawa, Japan - grew up in Nebraska and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Leisha was a member of the musical group
"The Murmurs" - later called "Gush" - and has played at Lilith Fair.

Hailey's most known acting screen performance to date is playing Lucy in the 1997 film All Over Me in which she played a lesbian rock and roller. She has had several other acting roles and commercials and continues to perform with her band. Hailey has been romantically linked to fellow musician kd lang.


She has a new band called Uh Huh Her made up of herself and Camila Grey, which launched their first full length album, Common Reaction, on August 19th, 2008. She owns her own record labels called Marfa Records and Plaid Records.
