Dana makes out like Lara just abandoned her in her hour of need, what with
the cancer and all, but Alice is word to the wise and doesn't believe any of
that crap.
"Nah, you've been showing her the door with this self-pitying bullshit"
Dana obviously doesn't like the taste of the truth and replies with a "fuck
you Al"
A: "No, y'know Dana, NOT 'fuck me', cause y'know why? Cause you have to get
a grip or you're not gonna have anyone LEFT to call"
Oooooh blunt as a lump hammer!
And abso-fucking-lutely correct Ms Pieszecki. Well done.
Saying that to Dana must have been hard for her, but it was right that she
did.
Dana, still in denial and sorry for herself asks "WHY are you doing this?"
"Cause I'm your FRIEND and I'm not gonna let you treat me like shit too!"
answers Alice, still in ultra-blunt honesty mode.
She reminds Dana she's surrounded by love and friends etc, that she's young
and should be out of bed.
Dana says she's sick, but Alice reminds her that she's sick from the
medicine she's been given - she's not bedridden!
She's holding Dana's hand and it's so nice to see these two friends back
together again without the awkwardness there way after they broke up.
"Y'know what I think? I think you should come out with me tonight.
I don't think the B-52's should miss you"
Trust Alice to add humour to a heavy situation to give it some levity. :-)
Dana reluctantly but cutely says "I DO like the B-52's" then she reconsiders
and doesn't think it's a good idea.
Someone might bump into her and she hasn't even got her bandages off from
her op yet.
Alice says she'll call Kit and get her to rope off a special little section
just for Dana.
Aww sweet :-)
Then she gets Dana to sit up and hugs her to her, telling her she'll look
after her and rubbing her back to comfort her.
She bends down, kisses Dana on the top of the head and promises to look
after her.
Cut back to:
Editor Lady's office, where Jan Martin ushers a reluctant Jenny BACK in.
Jenny moans that Editor Lady hates her book.
"How can I hate your book my darling? It's MY story - I'M the girl in your
book"
Oh. I see.
THAT'S why she was so into Jenny not being a victim and having a successful
survival story with positive message etc.
It alllll makes sense now :-)
Jan says that's why she put Jenny together with Editor Lady, because they
shared the same experiences.
However Jenny still insists it's HER story, and Editor Lady recognises that,
but wants Jenny "to come at it from a position of strength".
"I've come at it with ALL the strength that I have" Jenny says with such
stoicism that Editor Lady can only concede that she's NOT the right person
to edit Jenny's book.
She even smiles at Jenny and says "Bless you my darling", and means it.
Jenny says thank you and they leave her office much happier.
Cut to:
The Planet.
The queue outside is HUGE - it's the B-52's on the bill after all!
Inside the place is bustling and buzzing with the Scissor Sisters on the
decks.
Bette, Helena, Carmen and Shane stand around and talk about what happened
between Dana and Lara.
Kit comes over and makes everyone's evening by saying drinks are on the
house!
Yippee! Make mine a Smirnoff Ice, and not the black version thank you!
Then she's going over to greet Alice and Dana as they've arrived.
Kit leads them over to the special area she's roped off for Dana, and
everyone greets Dana warmly, giving her a chair immediately.
Alice starts talking about MoiraMax's arms - how they're getting big and
muscly etc
"She's practically a man Alice" comments Shane, but Alice thinks Shane is
being sarcastic about MoiraMax's appearance.
Cut to:
Kit checking out the huge queue outside.
Leaning against a car over the road she spots Billie.
The two share a look and Kit makes a decision, motioning Billie to come
along inside.
But Billie merely blows a theatrical kiss to Kit and walks slowly away.
Does that mean he's gone for good?
I wonder.......
Cut back to:
The gang in The Planet.
Alice says what's the deal with Shane and MoiraMax etc
Carmen mentions that she doesn't think MoiraMax "trusts what she's doing".
Alice has no idea what they're talking about:
"What's she doing? Besides living off Jenny......"
*snark*
MANgus asks Bette where Tina is and she says she's in Canada on location.
Oh little do you know Bette......
Then the lights go down and it's time for the B-52's set.
Helena happens to mention that Josh is a little over-ambitious so they had
to send Tina out there to "reign him in a bit".
Bette upon hearing Josh's name in the same sentence as Tina is NOT a happy
BetteBunny.
Kit introduces the band and the crowd go WILD!
