It's then I realise that Kit's been saying their name like 50 Cent.
Y'know, "Fiddy". i.e. The B-Fiddy 2's.
lol! Kit's a bona fide cool biatch y'know ;-)
The band rock up a storm and are very much the same as I remember them from
the 1986 with their re-issue of Rock Lobster/Planet Claire.
WHICH I happen to have on 7" in my record collection :-)
YES, I DO have a vinyl record collection folks. Small as it is.
Am I showing my age by revealing that?
Oh age schmage! Anyone who missed Rock Lobster 2nd time around missed a
frickin treat! ;-)
Like I said, they're very much the same. Only a tad fatter around the jowls
perhaps.
But then time tends to do that to rock stars.....
Shane tells Alice that MoiraMax is having a sex change.
"Moira's becoming a man!" states Carmen with a smile on her lips.
"Are you guys fucking kiddin me?!" asks Alice, surprised.
Alice leans over and shouts to Dana that MoiraMax is having a sex change.
Dana is suitably shocked/surprised too.
Alice reminds Dana of the piece she wrote ages ago on gender reassignment
and Carmen suddenly remembers the piece too, saying she loved it, and what
it was about etc
"these women, they take testosterone, cut off all their hair and cut their
tits....."
and it's at that moment that Carmen and everyone else around her realises
she's just stuck her rather elegant foot in her rather big mouth where Dana
is concerned.
Dana gets up to leave straight away and Carmen starts apologising profusely.
Shane berates her for what she said and Alice goes after Dana quickly.
She catches up with her just as they pass MoiraMax in the crowd. Alice is
trying to get Dana to come back and sit with them but Dana just says to
leave her alone, until she's yelling it at Alice.
Alice yells after her that she's not alone.
The band plays on.
We see Dana walking down the street somewhere, alone, arms crossed
protectively in front of herself.
After only a few steps someone bumps into her.
It's not very hard, but it's obvious it hurts Dana.
She's alone and she's hurting.
Cut to:
The next day finds Alice at the landfill.
She gets out of her car and eyes the HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE mountain of trash
that's piled there.
She realises the enormity of what faces her - that if Dana's cut-out standee
is in there, she's lost and she'll never be able to find it!
It's kind of clever imagery. Y'know, 'Dana is lost and Alice can't save her,
even though she's trying'.
Sometimes the writers can try and be clever and it doesn't come off.
But sometimes they just write from their heart, and it does.
Fade to end titles.
Btw, those of you who like a little hot sex in your tv programs, DON'T miss
next weeks ep (#8)
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;-)
GOTTA love that.
