#3.8 Recap by The Sci-Fi Bard

Cut to:

Shane doing hair at Wax.
She goes out to the waiting area to get her next client and some stunning blonde stands up, BUT she has to wait in line as just then Dana and Alice come in.

Shane apologizes to Stunning Blonde and ushers her friends into the cutting room, pulling the curtain to give Dana some privacy.

I have to say, I'm not the biggest Shane fan, but she DOES look rather yummy in her t shirt and braces with those glasses on!

Or maybe it's just the glasses thing.
I think I have a thing for women in glasses y'see.
DON'T make me go there though, or you'll be getting pages and pages of steamy fanfic rather than recaps ;-)

Dana sits in the cutting chair and Shane takes a look at her.
She's got on her shades and a wide brimmed hat etc so Shane carefully removes both and pops a haircutting cape around her shoulders.

She asks Dana "are you ready?" and Dana simply nods.
Shane smiles and it makes Dana smile too.

Then the hairdresser goes around back of Dana and a pair of clippers appear in front of Dana's face and switch on.

WOW! Dana's gonna have all her hair shaved off!

Which kinda makes sense. The chemo is gonna make it all fall out anyway, so this way, Dana gets a beat on her meds and it's HER decision to go bald, not the chemo's. Clever eh?

Cut back to:

The recording studio, as Tina, Helena and Dylan arrive.

Everyone says hi and Helena, in a guarded moment, asks Kit if Dylan can meet Nona etc
So off Kit goes and gets Nona, introducing her to all her friends and especially Dylan, who gushes she's a big fan etc.

SO cute! lol!

MANgus tells Kit she has a phone call and it turns out it's Bette.
She's still in the taxi going to the airport and asks Kit if she can do her a favor.
Bette wants Kit to call Tina and tell her she's welcome to come to the recording studio.
However, Kit tells her sister that Tina has just arrived anyway and of course Bette, being Bette does not like that one bit!

I know we're all rooting for Bette and Tina to get back together etc, but let's face it, I don't think I'd wanna be involved with someone like Bette!

She's by turns bossy, a control freak, selfish etc
Oh don't get me wrong - I KNOW she loves Tina a lot, but do you remember how she treated her in Season 1, ordering her to pick up her dry cleaning and such like she was a butler or maid?

Bette needs to get real and wise up to how she treats people, THEN she might find happiness, and NOT by going to a Buddhist retreat etc

Not only is she incredulous that Tina has dared go against her wishes and visited Kit at the recording studio, she even goes as far as hanging up on Kit too!

Y'know, I've found it can usually be the ones who are most 'grown up' and responsible etc that can act the most childish and immature.

Cut to:

A doctor giving details to MoiraMax about a "subcutaneous mastectomy being the reduction of breast volume to a male-appearing chest".

(By the by, I know a few GUYS down the pub who could do with having that procedure done....)
*weg*

MoiraMax and Jenny sit and listen as the guy explains the procedure and how much it will cost.
i.e. $7500
Sheesh, it sure is painful on the pocket turning into a guy.

MoiraMax says that's ok though, as she's/he's still covered under her previous work's insurance policy etc
HOWEVER, Procedure Guy explains that gender reassignment surgery isn't included (yet) on insurance policies as it's seen as an "elective" procedure. i.e. it's beneficial to the patient but NOT necessary.

OOPS.

Houston, MoiraMax has a problem.....

Jenny very kindly says she'll pay for the procedure out of her book advance, but MoiraMax says no, and that she wouldn't feel right taking Jenny's money etc

Procedure Guy pipes up, saying that some people hold Top Surgery Benefit Parties to raise the money for their surgery.
Er, if that's the way you have to go, then ok, but I don't think I'd like a bunch of people knowing (and paying!) about/for my gender reassignment surgery.

Ick.

Jenny though is enthusiastic about that idea and MoiraMax seems to agree to it more readily.

Cut back to:

Yet again, the recording studio.

Back to the funky song, with Nona doing lead vocals this time.

Tina (with Angelica in a body harness), Helena and Dylan are all sat on a sofa watching the recording process.

MANgus decides to give some more input to the session, but the Betty girls aren't receptive to his ideas.
Men eh? Always wanting to be in control of the situation. Be the boss etc.
*wonders if Bette was a guy in a previous life......*

Kit takes MANgus off for a talk to diffuse the situation.

Back on the sofa, Dylan's hand creeps over and takes hold of Helena's.
Awww, so cute ;-)
