Carmen, however, decides to reply without engaging her brain first:
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW ABOUT FAMILY?!"
Shane stands there with her mouth open, shocked that her girlfriend would
say something like that to her. Carmen stands there for a sec and then
closes her eyes, realizing the stupid stupid thing she's just said will have
probably hurt her girlfriend very deeply. However, the phone goes off,
saving them the worst of the argument that could have followed, as Shane
goes to answer it, muttering "that was really fucking nice of you" while
Carmen tries to apologize and take back what she said. It's obviously Alice
on the phone and Shane is saying straight away they'll be right there.
Carmen asks what's wrong and Shane explains Dana's in hospital as the chemo
is breaking down her immune system - she has an infection.
Cut to:
A scene, which, I know, as a writer, I should recap fully and in detail to
you all. But, considering what's happening to Dana and all, I'll just tell
you that after putting the kids down to sleep in the next room, Tina
proceeds to have sex with Henry up against the door of the bedroom.
Now, anyone want anymore detail than that?
No?........................................................didn't think
so.........
Cut to:
Bette escaping down to the lake to phone home and leave a message for her
daughter.
"I just wanna tell you that I love you and I miss you and I can't stand this
anymore I'm supposed to be on this silent retreat and everything just seems
SO LOUD and my loneliness is just so loud and I can't stand it - I just
wanna come home I want my art I want my books I want my things I want my
house I just wanna be able to kiss you goodnight I just....
*breaks down in tears*
I just want my life back!
I want! I want! I want! I want! I want!
Cut to:
Dana, being placed carefully onto a gurney in the hospital.
Dana calls weakly to Alice and she's by her side immediately. Then the
doctors and nurses are whisking her off to intensive care and Alice is
calling after her that she'll be right here, waiting for her. Then Alice is
left alone, in the corridor, waiting.
Fade up on:
End titles.
Will Dana be ok?
Will Shane lose the new family she loves?
Will I ever get used to Tina kissing/having sex with guys?
2 out of those 3 are doubtful.
Which 2, I'll leave till next week to answer.
This recap was brought to you mostly by the words "hissy", "fit" and
"tantrum" and by the number 80.
DISCLAIMER: Several excruciatingly bad hairdo's were thankfully
re-consigned back to the decade that fashion forgot, after this episode.
