Mia plays Jenny Schecter, a gifted young writer of fiction who just completed her MFA at the Iowa Writer's Workshop. With a major literary award and one published short story to her credit, she arrives in Los Angeles to begin her "adult life" with her boyfriend - soon to be fiancé – when she meets neighbors Bette and Tina and her life begins to change.

Mia - born January 25, 1976 in Toronto, ON Canada - was raised by her father, a journalist, and mother, a teacher. Attended McGill University in Montreal where she studied Russian Literature and 20th century movie industry. Mia has previously been seen in Party Monster, New Best Friend, and the Fox series 24. Her film "The Black Dahlia" opens nationwide September 15, 2006.

**Mia is 5'4'' (1.63m) tall.**
**Landed her first agent at 13 after appearing as an extra in The Freshman.**
**Played Sarah Logan in the pilot for the TV show "D.C." but the role was later re-cast.**
**The "Stuff" magazine cover she did with Chyler Leigh was the first time that magazine ever featured multiple people on the cover.**
**Appeared in Marilyn Manson's music video for "Tainted Love" in 2001.**
**Directed a short film, Victor, about a drag queen and his search for love in a very hard, cold, sexualized world.**
