I've found the perfect holiday gift for all the book lovers, movie
lovers, game lovers, and all-around kool kats on your list this year. It's
the gift that will have everyone asking "what's {your} favorite position?"
It's the Sumo Omni Lounge Chair.
Their website calls it a "a crash mat, lounge chair, loveseat or floor
pillow." What you call it is up to you, but I just call it comfy. Sumo
Beanbags are made from space age rip-proof nylon and come filled with top
quality Sumo Beads. Omni is 4.5' x 5.5' and it only weighs 18 lbs! Don't let
the description of "beanbag" throw you off - it's the most comfortable piece
of furniture I own, and it's been a huge hit with all my houseguests as
well.
My
favorite Sumo position is to relax in it recliner style. I lay back in it
while watching all my Wolfe videos and reruns of The L Word, too. The nylon
rip-stop fabric it's made of is super easy to clean and repels pet hair like
nothing you've ever seen before. It's the one piece of furniture I own that
I know won't have cat hair on it when I go to sit down.
Best of all it comes in L Word Pink... okay, they call if "Hot Pink," but we
all know it's really lesbian pink. If you're one of those devoted fans who
likes to throw L Word viewing parties, you can mix and match any of the 4 L
Word colors (black, silver, white, pink) and you'll be viewing in style.
Sumo also offers a cool ottoman to match.
Become known as the person who gives the "cool gifts" this year and have one
of these delivered (free of charge) to the doorstep of someone you love...
it'll be the biggest and best present they open this holiday season! Check
out their website now to view the current specials - who knows, maybe your
favorite color will be on sale!
I don't know how she does it, but Aimee Mann makes the tunes on her new
Christmas album sound both old fashioned & modern at the same time.
"One more drifter in the snow" is a collection of 10 holiday songs produced
by Paul Bryan. Overall the CD has a unique sound as far as Christmas music
is concerned, tending toward soft melodies & a slow pace. It's a bit
reminiscent of California surf music or cowboy campfire classics that have
been updated with a holiday twist.
On some tracks she's like a female crooner - Dean Martin meets kd Lang -
without any country twang. She makes "I'll be home for Christmas" sound like
its intended - more of a wish than a promise. Her version is wistful and
perhaps a bit melancholy.
In the next track she becomes sassy in "You're a mean one Mr. Grinch", sung
as a duet with Grant Lee Phillips.
I love the 'Arabian Nights' sound of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". And an
original track by Mann & Bryan called "Calling on Mary" - a definite
download even if you don't buy the full album.
Really the only thing that disappoints me about this CD is that there isn't
any notes with the insert included. I would have liked to know what inspired
/ motivated Mann to do this CD.
If you want to celebrate the season with music, but the local radio station
& the same old songs aren't cuttin' it, pick up a copy of "One more Drifter
in the Snow" and sing all the way to Grandmothers House.
