REPORTER: Michelle
Oh my god! I have just come
back from the L-word convention in London. I have had THE most amazing time
and just have to tell you how fantastic it was!!!
I was one of the lucky ladies to meet and greet the stars and I cant tell
you enough how lovely they all are, especially Rachel Shelley who was the
most friendliest person and took time to speak to me and my friends whenever
she would see us. If you get chance to read this Rachel, thank you so much
(from your sis!) By the way, I'm not her sister but she did say that I may
be able to play a role in the next series if they get her a family story
where we meet her relatives from the UK lol!!! She even signed my picture
"to my sister". How cool!!! Damn, I forgot to give her my number tho!
What a weekend! One I will remember for the rest of my lesbian life lol!
To all those girls who went to the convention at the weekend, I wonder if
you're still on the high that I am??!!! Oh, and it was great to meet so many
new people from all over the world! The lesbians took over the hotel for the
whole weekend. Good for us!
I had the most fantastic time ever and a truckload of thanks must go out to
Rachel Shelly, Ann Ramsay, Meredith McGeachie, Eric Mabius and not
forgetting a special thank you to Laurel Holloman who flew out especially
for the convention, even though she had previously cancelled due to L word
filming commitments. Apparently, the filming she was needed for was put back
to Wednesday of this week, so she and her husband and baby daughter,
flew out to London just to be there for us!!!
It has to be said that each and everyone of the stars were soooo nice and
friendly. They gave us their time and shared their feelings and let us ask
any questions we wanted.
One question asked to Laurel was "who was the best kisser - Jennifer or
Rachel"??? Difficult question when you have Rachel sat there beside you!!!
"Brits do it best" she said to rapturous applause and a grinning, blushing
Rachel.
Series 3 is going to be great with lots of changes and dark moments, new
characters and finding out more about our favourites. Tim is back in the
third season too.
My friends and I were a few of the lucky girls to get a "meet and greet"
with the stars on the Friday night. That was amazing. They just came and
mingled with us and chatted to us. Shook our hands and we introduced
ourselves and talked to them like they were our new best friends!! We
wish!!! Not to mention how much MORE beautiful they are in the flesh!
Anyway, as you can see by the picture, I had a blast and am still up there
in the clouds!!!
Right, am off to watch Series 2 all over again to see my new best mates
*wink*!!!!
Roll on Series 3!!! I cant wait, tho I'm gonna have to. Damn it.
Take care y'all.

The attendees could ask questions on the Saturday night - these ranged from;
discussions on kissing technique, to the height of heels on the shoes they
wear, realism, the murder of Mr Piddles, character insights and possible
back story, and in the case of Eric & Anne their character's relationship to
Jenny.
I have no pictures of the opening ceremony - because stupidly I thought
Laurel wasn't coming so I didn't take my camera down to the hall! (IDIOT!)
Neil Roberts of Charmed was the MC for the event and after introducing each
of the guests he said something like -
Now I know alot of you wanted to see Laurel? loud applause
Is that right - Crowd yells Yes!
Are you very disappointed - YES!
>pause
What would you do if she was here? - Crowd goes wild yelling "Laurel,
Laurel" & stamping feet....
Well she's HERE! - Crowd goes bonkers!
Laurel came out on stage to wild applause - how some people didn't faint I
don't know! Certainly you could hardly hear anything Laurel said & she had a
microphone! She tried to say she was speechless by the reception she
received. She certainly seemed very moved by the reaction! Then all the
guests came back on for a group applause.
Laurels schedule had apparently been changed again and she had flown in for
just the Friday night and the Saturday before needing to return to Vancouver
for filming at the beginning of the week (how she managed to look so radiant
with that schedule is just amazing).
They then needed to depart to get ready for the meet & greet being held for
the first 200 ticket holders. I was one of those - but unfortunately the
room was very crowded & a bit chaotic so it wasn't possible for everyone to
have time with the guests - although that was disappointing I'm sure it must
have been quite disorientating for the guests as there was quite a crush to
get near to them - especially Laurel who appeared to be permanently
surrounded.
There was a party in the evening & I gather some of the guests joined the
convention goers to party into the early morning - Eric in his introduction
certainly said he planned on getting little sleep!
Saturday morning began with photo sessions - where attendees could have
their photo taken with the guest of their choice - there was also a group
photo session with all of the guests. The Main hall opened at around 12 noon
for the first of the guests Q&A sessions. Starting with Eric.
